Harper wins fifth straight national championship
Top five Hawks runners finish in top 20; Djouma wins individual title

WESTFIELD, Mass. --- Paced by sophomore Will Troman, Harper College (Ill.) seized the 2015 NJCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
En route to their fifth national title, the Hawks tallied 49 points with the top five runners posting an average time of 28:15.14. Troman, who finished third overall, recorded a team-best time of 27:15.7. Meanwhile Harper also collected points from Adam Brauer (9th, 28:07.1), TJ Paton (11th, 28:24.3), Eddie Lamas (14th, 28:32.2) and Kurtis Monahan (18th, 28:56.4).
Coming in first overall was freshman Zakaria Djouma of Mohawk Valley Community College (N.Y.) finishing the five-mile run with a time of 26:15.1. Jared Hallow of Potomac State College of WVU (W.Va) followed 53 seconds later to finish second overall.
MVCC finished second in the team standings with 73 points and an average time of 28:25.4, while Howard Community College’s (Md.) average time of 29:01.84 and 92 total points was good for third.
The victory marks Harper’s 17 national title in school-history. The Hawks men’s cross country program has now won the NJCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship in each year since 2011.
