2007 NJCAA All-American and Male Athlete of the Year Selected No. 1 Overall in NLL Draft
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Former NJCAA lacrosse player Cody Jamieson was the No. 1 selection in the 2010 National Lacrosse League Draft by the Rochester Knighthawks held Sept. 8th in Toronto. Jamieson was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Onondaga Community College (N.Y.) and helped the Lazers capture back-to-back NJCAA Lacrosse Championships in 2006 and 2007 and a perfect 33-0 record.
During the 2007 season, Jamieson led the nation in points (116), goals (65) and assists (51) en route to earning the David Rowlands Award as the NJCAA Male Student-Athlete of the Year, which marked the first time the award was given to a lacrosse student-athlete.
Jamieson was a member of the 2009 Syracuse University squad that won the NCAA Championship. He scored the game winning goal in overtime in the title game against Cornell. Jamieson was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American and an All-BIG EAST First Team choice in 2010 after scoring 41 points, including 28 goals. For his career, Jamieson totaled 53 points on 37 goals and 16 assists in 21 games for Syracuse.
A native of Wilsonville, Ontario, Jamieson is a member of the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy and the Iroquois National Lacrosse Team. The Iroquois National team competes in the International Lacrosse Federation and is the only Native American team sanctioned to compete in any sport internationally.
