NJCAA Members Selected for NBA Future Basketball Operations Stars Program
Charlotte, NC – After over 300 applications from those within the NJCAA, 12 current/former NJCAA student-athletes and employees have been offered a spot as full-time participants in the 2024 NBA Future Basketball Operations Stars Program (FBOS).
The 2024-25 Future Basketball Operations Stars Program is a six-month virtual training program delivering targeted basketball operations and professional development content on topics including scouting, roster construction, on-and-off-court player development, analytics, and the NBA Salary Cap. Upon the completion of the virtual programming, top FBOS participants will be selected for short-term in-person career development opportunities with the League office.
Out of the 12 selected, three participants are currently on staff at an NJCAA member college. Brian Egejuru is the assistant men's basketball coach at Lake Land College (IL). Egejuru is in his second year with the Lakers after previously playing professionally in Spain. Egejuru graduated from Central Methodist University where he played two years for the Eagles and was recognized as a two-time All-American. Current Eastern Oklahoma State College men's basketball assistant coach, Chad Foster, joined the Mountaineer basketball staff in 2023. A former student-athlete, Foster played for four years at Cumberland University and transitioned to graduate assistant in the 2021-22 season before making his way to Eastern Oklahoma State. Mari Neberieza, head women's basketball coach at Harper College (IL) is in her first year with the Hawks. Having previously served as assistant coach for Prairie State College, Neberieza has years of experience within the coaching realm of women's basketball. She is also the assistant coach of the women's soccer team.
The third iteration of the Future Basketball Operations Stars program launches this month.
