Two New Staff Members Join National Office Staff
Charlotte, NC - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced two new staff members to the National Office.
Owen Brown joins the NJCAA National Office as Sport Operations & Championships Associate. Brown recently graduated from Syracuse University where he received his Bachelor of Science, Broadcast & Digital Journalism degree and a Minor in Sport Management. Although Brown attended college in NY he is originally from Charlotte where he attended South Mecklenburg HS and was the captain of the varsity soccer team.
"We are very excited to have Owen join our team. We believe that his experiences and skill set will help enhance the student athlete experience, and push our organization forward", stated Kalyn Fetter, Sport Operations & Championships Manager.
Brown enjoys broadcasting and has announced baseball, soccer, and football for CNY Stream in NY, Queen City Corndogs and TST/TBT (The Soccer/Basketball Tournament) in the Charlotte region. Brown enjoys working with young people and has been a Sports Camp Counselor for the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
Monica Taylor joins the NJCAA National Office as Office Manager. Prior to joining the NJCAA Taylor was the Director of Athletic Facilities and Gameday Operations for Catawba College where her responsibilities included managing the daily operations of athletic facilities. Taylor also supervised the work study program for students and worked with game day staff and officials to coordinate all aspects of game day operations.

The daughter of a veteran two-year college baseball coach, she has a passion for two-year college athletics and the student athlete experience. Couple that with her professional experiences in intercollegiate athletic operations, she brings a diversity of skills and knowledge that will be a tremendous asset to our team" stated Michelle Meadows, Senior Vice President -COO & CFO.
Prior to her role at Catawba, Taylor was Director of Softball Operations for the University of Pittsburg. Taylor has held several roles in college sports including Assistant Softball Coach at Harvard University, Director of Softball Operations, and Assistant Softball Coach at NC State University. Taylor received her Bachelor of Science, Sport Management degree (Deans List) at Catawba College and her Master of Arts, Liberal Studies at NC State University. Taylor was a student athlete playing softball at UNC – Wilmington and Catawba College.
