Dan Johnson serves as the NJCAA Region 9 Men's Director and spent over 35 years with Southeast Community College as athletic director, a position he held from 1986 until 2021, leading the Storm to numerous Region 9 titles, and several appearances to NJCAA National Tournaments. At the helm of athletics, Johnson grew the athletic department from four sports to 10, with limited funds.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnson led initiatives to keep student-athletes and athletic staff safe, all while ensuring smooth return to play measures.
Johnson served as president of the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference. As Southeast's men's basketball coach for 20 seasons, Johnson led the program to over 400 wins and six conference titles. He also coached the men's golf program to a region title in 1986.
