2024 NJCAA Convention Session Descriptions
TITLE IX COMPLIANCE AND ATHLETICS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION, PRESENTED BY ATIXA
Monday, April 15 | 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. | GLENWATERS | SEPARATE REGISTRATION
Join ATIXA for this One-day Training and Certification Course This course covers sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, and culture challenges in athletics and will also delve deeply into program equity compliance. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of why program inequities exist and how to spot red flags and address them. Presenters draw from the courts, the news, their experiences working with athletic departments of all types nationwide, and the Olympic movement. This course is relevant for Title IX Coordinators with little or no athletic administration experience and seasoned athletic compliance staff.
This is an independent training and certification course. The pricing is $845 for ATIXA Members, $945 for Non-Members. NJCAA Members will receive a 15% discount when using the code NJCAACON2024 for registration.

This session will delve into real-life stories and best practices on the successes and pitfalls of leadership at different levels and from different points of view. Attendees will hear various methods of strategy and thought processes that go into achieving goals and sustaining success.
Judy Rose is one of the most successful and well-respected Athletics Directors in the nation. She served as the Charlotte 49ers Director of Athletics for 28 years and was a member of the athletics department for 43 years.
At the time of her appointment in 1990, she was just the third female to be put in charge of a Division I program. She helped develop over $100 million worth of athletic facilities which have enhanced playing venues, academic services, strength and conditioning programs, training and medical support to improve the experience of each and every student-athlete.
She was instrumental in attracting national sporting events to Charlotte such as the 1994 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four, the 1996 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four, the 1999 and 2000 NCAA Men’s Soccer College Cups as well as a variety of NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament rounds. *** Attendance required for Aspiring Leaders Program***
