NJCAA Celebrates College Sports Communicators Membership Appreciation Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) celebrated its annual Membership Appreciation Week presented by ESPN on November 12-17, 2024. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is a proud member of CSC and appreciates what CSC does for student-athletes and collegiate athletics.
NJCAA President and CEO, Dr. Christopher Parker expressed, "College Sports Communicators not only recognizes student-athletes excelling in the classroom, but it also celebrates the individuals who devote their time to athletic communications. Our communications team does everything with the student-athletes front of mind, and CSC supports our staff by providing them with the resources they need to succeed. This week and every week, I am appreciative of our staff."
CSC is a 4,400+ member national association for strategic, creative and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization has a twofold mission:
- Assist communications and public relations professionals at all collegiate levels with professional development and continuing education, helping its members deal in a strategic and effective manner with the various issues, challenges and opportunities that exist within the fast-paced and ever-changing collegiate communications environment.
- Play a significant leadership and resource role within the overall collegiate athletics enterprise, thus helping other management groups and their respective memberships deal with the set of communications-based issues that is the most complex and challenging in history.
In the mid-1950s, CSC founded the highly regarded Academic All-America program, the premier awards program in intercollegiate athletics for honoring combined academic and athletic excellence.
