NJCAA announces partnership with the United States Marine Corps
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA recently announced a partnership with the United States Marine Corps. The partnership will foster a relationship between two-year colleges, leadership development and opportunities within the Marines. Through awareness, access to communities, and advocacy, the partnership will provide NJCAA member colleges with resources to make a difference in their communities.
The United States Marine Corps is an organization comprised of men and women who have exemplified the honor, courage, and commitment it takes to become Marines. It is important to the entity that its brand is exhibited in the context of its identity and purpose. As an organization and educator, the overall mission is make Marines, win our nation's battles, and return quality citizens.
"This partnership is an outstanding opportunity for NJCAA student-athletes, athletic directors, and coaches to get involved with the community and make a difference," stated Dr. Christopher Parker, NJCAA President and CEO. "The Marine Corps will provide first-class resources and experiences to elevate athletic departments to their full potential."
As an official partner, the Marines will be the presenting sponsor of the 2021 NJCAA DI and DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set for May 6-8 and May 11-13 respectively. They will also sponsor the NJCAA Player of the Year Awards, Coach of the Tournament, Coach of the Year, and All-American Awards for the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic year.

As a result of relationships built between the two, the Marines will continue to foster development through initiatives for long-lasting results on and off two-year college campuses. Examples of local engagements are Marine-led class presentations, workouts, team talks, and community service projects where the local Marine outfit supports local efforts.
The Marine Corps Educators Workshops Programs available through local recruiters offer NJCAA coaches the opportunity to learn more about aspirational service to the nation while networking with other coaches looking to improve their teams and student outcomes.
