Mark Krug
Director of Sports Information and Media Relations

Mark Krug joined the NJCAA Staff in September of 2006 as Assistant to the Executive Director. He was elevated to Director of Sports Information and Media Relations on June 1, 2008.

Executive Director Wayne Baker is confident in Krug's ability to handle all the areas within the NJCAA. "With Mark's past experience in sports information and media relations and his willingness to be educated in new areas I believe he will be an immediate asset to our organization. We are happy to have Mark on staff and look forward to seeing the new ideas and perspective he brings to the NJCAA."

Before coming to the NJCAA, Krug served as an Information Specialist at Arizona State University in the Parking and Transportation Department. While there he was responsible for all public/media relations aspects of the department as well as producing a monthly newsletter and designing and editing advertising for print publications.

Krug is a 2000 graduate of Central Christian College of Kansas with an associates degree with a criminal justice emphasis. While at Central Christian he was a two-year letterman on the baseball team, serving as team captain in his sophomore season and received the Mr. Sportsmanship Award from the school's athletic department.

Upon graduation from Central Christian, Krug continued his education at Northern Arizona University where he received a bachelor of science degree in electronic media, with a journalism emphasis in August 2002. During his time at Northern Arizona, Krug was the executive sports producer and anchor for the NAU's UTV (University Television).

Krug completed his education at the University of Wyoming, completing all graduate coursework for a master's degree in communication in May 2004. While at Wyoming he served as a graduate assistant in the athletic media relations office. He was the primary media contact for the wrestling and track and field programs and assisted with daily and gameday duties for the football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and soccer programs. Krug was honored with the University of Wyoming Admiral Land Award in 2003. This award is presented year by the Wyoming Athletic Department to the student who has exhibited excellence in promoting Wyoming athletics.

A native of Torrington, Wyoming, Krug lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Stephanie.
