Today's NJCAA

Stephanie Hazzard
Director of Championship Events
Beginning her career with the NJCAA in September of 2008, Stephanie Hazzard has grown as a member of the NJCAA Office professional staff and in 2010 Hazzard was named the NJCAA Director of Championship Events.  In addition to her daily responsibilities in the women's division, Hazzard has become the primary point of contact for all outside events including national championships, meetings and special events.  She is also in charge of all social marketing including the NJCAA Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Hazzard comes to the NJCAA after working for Oscar Mayer Foods as spokesperson and Media Specialist for the Wienermobile National Tour where she helped organize, promote and implement 250 daily consumer and charity events in 28 states. Her duties included distributing press materials and appearances on local and national television and radio stations.

She is a 2004 graduate of the State University of New York College at Cortland where she majored in sport management and served as a student-assistant in the athletic department. Her responsibilities included coordinating game-day operations for several sports, ticket sales, hospitality, marketing and media relations.

In 2007 Hazzard received her Master of Education degree from Elmira College (N.Y.). While at Elmira she worked as a development assistant for the school's alumni office. In that role helped role out alumni, athletic and homecoming events.

Hazzard has a great background in sports, including a 2004 summer internship at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y. and as a NFHS and USSF soccer official that will make her transition to the NJCAA an easy one.

"Stephanie brings a youthful enthusiasm, in addition to her experience in the field, that has been a great asset to the association," said Executive Director Mary Ellen Leicht. "During her tenure with the NJCAA she has done a great job working with our outside event hosts as well as creating engagement with our member colleges and student-athletes through the use of social media."
