Charlotte, NC— The NJCAA has announced upcoming locations for the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Championships. Onondaga (NY) was selected to host the event in 2020 and 2022 while Monroe (NY) will entertain the national championship in 2021 and 2023.
Onondaga Director of Athletics Michael Borsz expressed his sentiments regarding the opportunity to host the national championship. "We are thrilled to welcome back the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse National Championships to Onondaga Community College and Syracuse, NY. It is only fitting that these championships should be played in Central New York, as the game of lacrosse itself was created by our neighbors, the Haudenosaunee people – a fact we will highlight as host of these championship. We look forward to creating a welcoming and positive experience for all the student-athletes, coaches, families and fans."
Home to one of the most successful men's and women's lacrosse programs in NJCAA history, the Lazers will welcome teams May 16-17, 2020 for the four-team event. Home to multiple events throughout the year aside from Onondaga's home schedule, Charles R. Wilbur Field at Lazer Stadium is a 2,000-seat stadium. Onondaga previously hosted the women's lacrosse championship in 2015.
The current six-time defending national champions, Monroe will welcome teams to John L. DiMarco Field for the fifth and sixth times since 2012. The Tribunes previously hosted the event in 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018.
The 2019 championship event will be held at Siegert Field in Arnold, MD.
