Charlotte, NC— The NJCAA has announced upcoming locations for the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA was awarded the championship in 2020 while the event will return to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS in 2021.
“Liberty University is honored to host the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships for 2020,” stated Clendon Henderson, Associate Head Track & Field Coach at Liberty. “Our goal will be to serve the student-athletes, coaches, and fans to bring a memorable and first-class experience.”
The men’s and women’s meet will return to the east coast in 2020 for the first time since 2016 when the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, NC served as host. The state-of-the-art Liberty Indoor Track Complex opened in January 2017. One of the few complexes in the nation to offer a six-lane, 200-meter, hydraulically banked oval track, the 169,000 square-foot facility seats nearly 1,500 spectators.
The event will return to Pittsburg State’s Robert W. Plaster Center in 2021, the third time hosting the event since 2017 which includes the 2019 championship. Barton (KS) claimed the 2019 women’s title in Pittsburg while Iowa Central captured the men’s championship.
The 2020 championship will be held March 6-7 while the dates for 2021 are March 5-6.
