By Nicholas Huenefeld/Owens Sports Information

Toledo, OH---Kendyl Christian (Clay/Oregon, OH) and Jessica Grindle(Northwood/Northwood, OH) each scored twice as the Express women's soccer team posted a 4-0 victory over Jackson College at home today.

The win avenges a 3-2 loss to the Jets from Aug. 31.

Christian got the Express started with a goal at the 15:36 mark where she beat the keeper far left on a pass from Jill Burkholder (Bryan/Bryan, OH).

Grindle then added a sliding goal off a through ball from Haley Gasser(Northview/Sylvania, OH) at the 24:50 mark.

Gasser assisted on another goal by Christian at the 41:38 mark to put the Express up 3-0 at halftime.

Grindle added some more insurance in the 79th minute when she received a pass from Abby Groll (Clay/Oregon, OH) and took it past a defender on the right side and beat the keeper for her 19th goal of the season.

Erika Brinkman (Kalida/Cloverdale, OH) started and went the distance in goal for the Express. She made one save, and it was an impressive one early in the second half when she tipped a hard shot above her head off the crossbar.

Marie Rodgers started in goal for Jackson, but exited after one save due to an injury just over eight minutes into the game. Kim Buie played the rest of the game and made nine saves.

The Express had 14 shots on goal compared to just one for Jackson.

Notes
The Express (13-2) won their 11th straight game with today's win. Since the streak began on Sept. 8, the Express have outscored their opponents 53-7. Additionally, they haven't allowed more than one goal over a 10-game stretch.
The regular season will conclude for the Express with two road matches, the first one coming against Delta College on Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. They will then travel to Cincinnati State to close out the regular season on Oct. 26 at 3 p.m.
Grindle's team-high 18th and 19th goals also marked her 24th and 25 career goals. That ties her with Marissa Szabo (2011) for the second most goals in program history.
Christian's goals were the eighth and ninth of her freshman campaign.
Gasser picked up her eighth and ninth assists of the season. She increased her school record career total to 25. Burkholder's assist was her ninth of the season and 18th of her career. She is second in career assists behind Gasser.
