Lady Indians fall to Meridian 5-1
August 29, 2013
The Lady Indians (0-2; 0-0 MACJC North) dropped their second-straight match of the season behind a 5-1 loss to Meridian.
“This has not been an easy start to the season for the girls,” Sullivan said. “They opened with Delta State and faced a Meridian team that will be in the mix for the state championship at the end of the season. We have a lot of young girls that are having to adjust to the collegiate level of play in a hurry, but you want to play a level to help you get better as the season progresses.”
Carley Burns (Lewisburg) scored the Lady Indians’ lone goal of the day.
ICC will travel to Jones County Junior College for Friday night doubleheader with the Lady Indians starting things off at 5:00 and the Indians following at 7:00.
“Jones is always one of the better teams in the state,” said Sullivan. “It will be a good test for both our squads going on a long road trip and face really good competition before stepping into division play in September.”
