Ancilla Women's Basketball Gets First Win over Andrews University
November 19, 2012
DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College women's basketball team took home their first victory of the season last night with a 66-62 win over Andrews University. The Lady Chargers are now 1-4 in regular season play.
Coach Beason mentioned, “I feel like we got off to a really slow start, but decided to play hard in the last 4 minutes of the game, thankfully, that was enough to seal the deal. We need to continue to get better about not taking time off during games. If we can do that, we’ll be able to pick up some unexpected wins!”
Kaylia Richardson (Indianapolis, IN) had another solid performance with 18 points and 13 rebounds and Brittany Himes (Plymouth, IN) had one of her best scoring nights with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Beason added, “It’s nice to have some momentum and confidence under our belt going in to Saturday’s tough matchup against Edison.”
The Lady Chargers host Edison Community College November 17th and then on the road November 29th against Prairie State College.
Ancilla College enrolls 500 students in 17 degree programs ranging from accounting to nursing. It was founded by the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ in 1937, and is located 2 miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth.
