Lady Texans take care of Cisco to remain undefeated
 November 11, 2012

LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Lady Texans withstood a second half surge from Cisco College thanks in large part to a total team effort, and pulled away from the Lady Wranglers to win handily, 77-53, to remain undefeated on the season.

Up by 12 at the half, Cisco outscored the Lady Texans 18-3 to start the second period and to pull to within three points.

TaSheena Moore stopped the bleeding just inside the 13-minute mark and soon after the Lady Texans blitzed their opponent with a15-1 run to go up 17, putting the game too far out of reach for Cisco to respond.

South Plains (5-0) would lead by as many as 26 points in the second half.

TaSheena Moore led the way with 17 points and even had seven assists.  She had plenty of help around her as Stephanie Moore recorded her first double double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds; Lindsey Lee turned in her third consecutive double-digit night with 12 points; and Alexius Dawn chipped in with eight points, 10 assists, and five steals, while only turning the ball over once.

As a team, South Plains made 30-of-65 shots and recorded 10 blocks.

The Lady Texans return to the court next weekend when they travel to Liberal, Kan. for the Seward County Classic Nov. 16-17.  They will face host Seward County at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by what may be their toughest match of the season with sixth-ranked Hutchinson on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Both games will be streamed live over the internet at www.livesportvideo.com.
