TC3 Women's Basketball Opens Season with Big Win

Stilwell Goes for 30 Points in 87-60 Win
DRYDEN, N.Y. - The TC3 women's basketball team opened the 2009-10 season by hitting its first seven shots from the field en route to an 87-60 win over Hudson Valley Community College Sunday in Dryden.
The Panthers shot 71% from the floor in the first half, including 9 of 11 for Mackenzie Stilwell (Charles O. Dickerson H.S./Trumansburg), as TC3 led by as many as 30 points before settling with a 56-28 lead at the break. Nine different Panthers scored in the first twenty minutes, led by 19 points for Stilwell. Hudson Valley could pull no closer than 22 points in the second half, as three Panthers finished in double figures scoring.
Stilwell led all scorers with 30 points to go with six rebounds. Alyssa Georgiade (Cicero-North Syracuse H.S./Clay) finished with 12 points while Kyla Knapp (Owego Free Academy/Owego) added 10 points and five rebounds. Michelle Tuetken (Newark Valley H.S./Berkshire) tied a school record for assists, narrowly missing a double-double with nine points and 10 assists.
Sarah Carciobolo led Hudson Valley with 21 points.
TC3 hosts Mohawk Valley Community College Wednesday at 5 p.m.
