MGCCC soccer sweeps Southwest

PERKINSTON---A Mitchell Cecatiello goal with nine minutes remaining lifted Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to a 3-2, MACJC South Division opening win over Southwest Sept. 7. The Bulldogs (1-2-1, 1-0) fell behind1-0 in the first half but got scores from Johnson Cijulus and Stewart Mena to take the lead. Southwest tied the game at 2-2 heading into halftime.
Meanwhile the Lady Bulldogs (1-2, 1-0) erupted for four goals in the second half en route to a 4-0 shutout of Southwest. Lady Bulldog sophomore Dani Craft got her team on the board with goals in the 56th and 69th minute. Fellow sophomore Raven Lawrence added another score along with Deanna Culbertson to seal the victory. Gulf Coast travels to Poplarville Sept. 10 to face 14th ranked Pearl River in another MACJC South Division clash.
