BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (April 19, 2013) – CCBC Catonsville freshman right-hander Samantha (Sammi) O’Connor pitched her second no-hitter of the season against Harford on April 16, 2013, leading CCBC Catonsville to an 11-0 win in the first game of a double header.  O’Connor struck out 11 and walked only one in the five inning affair.  She ran her record to 15-2.

Kyrstin Elliott led the Catonsville attack with a 3-4 effort and 4 RBIs.  Erin Pronobis also went 3-4, with 3 runs and 2 RBIs.  Three others (Hunter Long, Brittany Kinnear and Cali Hernandez) contributed two hits each.

The Lady Cardinals completed the sweep at Harford with an 11-3 win in game two.  Sam Lang improved her record to 6-4.  O’Connor pitched the final two innings of the six inning game.  Kyrstin Elliott was again the hitting star, going 3-3 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.  Elliott and Lang both homered in game 2.

O’Connor continued her pitching mastery the following day, April 17th, with a one hitter versus Anne Arundel to improve her record to 16-2.  She struck out 8 and had no walks as Catonsville won by an 8-0 count in game 1 of a double header.

Sammi O’Connor pitched a perfect game on Saturday, April 6, 2013.  She was named NJCAA Pitcher of the week for April 1-7 on the national level and March MD JUCO Student Athlete of the Month for softball on the state level.

CCBC Catonsville Women’s Softball team was the 2012 Maryland JUCO and the NJCAA Region XX Champions.
