TC3 Softball Drops Pair to Strong Division II Team
 March 16, 2013

TITUSVILLE, FLA. – A strong Division II team with over 20 games under its belt this year proved to be too much for the Tompkins Cortland Community College softball team on its second day of games during its spring break trip to Florida. Taking on Heartland Community College (Ill.) Saturday the Panthers lost by scores of 10-1 and 13-2. TC3 is now 1-3 while Heartland improves to 18-7. All three TC3 losses have come to Division II teams. Sunday the Panthers take on a fellow Division III team for the first time, matching up against two-time defending national champion Gloucester County College (N.J.) in the morning before taking on another Division II team, Waubonsee Community College (Ill.) in the afternoon.

Saturday’s games proved few highlights for the Panthers. In the opener, Casey Morey (Owego Free Academy/Owego) had the team’s lone hit in the five-inning game. In game two, Seneca Baldwin (Oneonta H.S./Oneonta) had a double for TC3’s lone extra-base hit.
