Congratulations to Midland College women's basketball coach Ron Jones who recently recorded his 500th win as head coach of the Lady Chaps.  Jones, the only coach in the history of the women's basketball program at Midland College, reached the milestone in a 60-51 win over South Plains College.  He holds the record for most basketball wins in a career at the college and currently sits at 502-125 (.801) in this his 19th season at MC.  

Under Jones's leadership the Lady Chaps have won nine Western Junior College Athletic Conference titles with a 203-49 (.805) overall conference record. This season the Lady Chaps have qualified for their 19th NJCAA Region V Tournament appearance having won it on five occasions.  In his five NJCAA Women's Division I Tournament appearances, Jones and the Lady Chaps finished in the top eight in 2010, 5th in 2008, 3rd in 1999 and 2003 and as the National Runner Up in 2001.
