TC3 Men's Basketball Tops Cayuga 72-60

DRYDEN, N.Y. – Big nights from Devin Redden (St. Mary’s H.S./Buffalo) and Tyseem Lyles (Health Professions H.S./Brooklyn) led the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team to a 72-60 home win over Cayuga Community College Wednesday. TC3, 13-4 overall, ends the first half of the conference schedule with a 5-1 record in the Mid-State Athletic Conference. Cayuga is now 5-14 overall and 3-3 in the MSAC.

The game was back-and-forth in the first half, with the lead changing hands ten times before TC3 used a late run to take a 36-24 lead into the break. The Panthers held the lead the entire second half, peaking at 17 points with 4:48 left on the clock before settling in for the 72-60 final.

Redden led all scorers with 23 points while also grabbing ten rebounds and handing out four assists. Lyles bounced back from a four-point first half to finish with 20 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, and six assists. A total of ten Panthers scored, with Brandon Reed (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse) next with eight points and Jaanai Beckford (Northstar Christian Academy/Yonkers) with seven.

TC3 plays at Finger Lakes Community College Saturday.
