COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Bobby Hunter (Santa Fe College, Fla.), Chris Solomon (Phoenix College, Ariz.) and Shane Bosek (Minnesota State CTC) have been named NJCAA men’s basketball players of the week for games Dec. 31 – Jan. 6.

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bobby Hunter – Sana Fe College, Fla.
Guard – Reno, Nev. – Bishop Manogue High School

Hunter showcased his shooting ability last week as he led the Saints to two wins. The sophomore was 11-for-18 from the floor and knocked down three 3-pointers against Georgia Highlands College. Hunter totaled 33 points, five rebounds and five assists as Santa Fe cruised to a 100-74 victory. Defeating St. Petersburg College (Fla.) 71-60, the Saints saw Hunter score 26 points to go along with six boards and five assists.

DIVISION II PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Chris Solomon – Phoenix College, Ariz.
Guard – Los Angeles, Calif. – Fairfax High School

Two superior performances last week from Solomon propelled the No. 17 Bears to victory in both of their games. Solomon hit six 3-pointers and scored 39 points to go along with four assists in a 117-83 rout of Tohono O’odham CC (Ariz.). Against Scottsdale CC (Ariz.), Solomon posted 28 points and five rebounds as Phoenix edged out an 85-83 win in overtime.

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shane Bosek – Minnesota State Community & Technical College
Forward – Lowry, Minn. – Minnewaska Area High School

The Spartans earned two blowout victories last week behind Bosek’s exemplary play. In an 104-63 shellacking of Itasca CC (Minn.), Bosek recorded 29 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Against Mesabi Range CTC (Minn.), the sophomore was 8-for-15 from the field for 21 points and dished out five assists as Minnesota State claimed a 71-51 win.
