Lady Texans ease by the Lady Artichokes
 January 2, 2013

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Tasheena Moore recorded game highs of 15 points and eight assists and helped to lead the South Plains College Lady Texans to their fourth consecutive victory, defeating Scottsdale Community College 60-47 on New Years Day.

Jasmine Brainard and Shea Myatt also recorded double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Much of the first half was very close, but the Lady Texans once again used a late run that helped put some distance on their opponent.

With the score tied up at 26 apiece, South Plains scored the final seven points over the final 1:42 to take a 33-26 lead at halftime.

South Plains (11-2) did not allow the Lady Artichokes to get any closer than six points and ultimately cruised to a 13-point victory, despite making only 1-of-14 shots from beyond the 3-point arc. The Lady Texans will enjoy a day off Wednesday before facing Chandler-Gilbert at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3.  Live stats for the game will be available at www.spctexans.com.
