St. Pierce, FL - The Santa Fe Saints fought valiantly on Tuesday night against Indian River State College but a late run by the Pioneers cost Santa Fe their third game in a row.  SF now sits at 5-5 on the season.

The two teams battled back and forth the entire game with Indian River taking a late 65-63 lead with just under two minutes to go.  A layup at the shot clock buzzer and a steal resulting in a break away layup pushed the margin to 69-63.  The Saints failed to score the rest of the way and the Pioneers made their free throws to put the game away.

Bobby Hunter led Santa Fe with 18 points, Chad Milliken scored 13 and Takija Knight had 11.

"We came up short again but we did some good things," said SF Coach Chris Mowry.  "We need to keep working hard all 40 minutes and continue to improve every day.  We will spend the next few days getting ready for Palm Beach on Saturday."

The Saints welcome Palm Beach and 6 other teams December 8 and 9 for the Florida College Shootout.  SF and PBSC battle on Saturday at 11:00 AM in game one of the two day tournament.
