CORNING, N.Y. – For the third year in a row, the Tompkins Cortland Community College men’s basketball team is bringing home the title of champions of the Tarantelli Classic in Corning. The Panthers won Sunday’s final, 69-63, over Columbia-Greene Community College to remain perfect in the three years the team has taken part in the tournament. The win improves TC3’s overall record this year to 6-3. Columbia-Greene is also 6-3 on the year.

The Panthers had another balanced effort in the final, with tournament MVP Tyseem Lyles (Health Professions H.S./Brooklyn) leading the way with 16 points to go with six rebounds and four assists. All-tournament selection Brandon Reed (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse) just missed another double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
