Moore's 22-points help Lady Texans to lopsided victory over Phoenix
 November 10, 2012

LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Lady Texans moved to 4-0 on the season following a 71-40 shellacking of Phoenix College Friday afternoon at the Texan Dome in their first home game of the season.

TaSheena Moore led the way for the Lady Texans with 22-points, making 9-of-14 shots from the field.  Levelland native Lindsey Lee came off the bench to add 12 points, while also gathering five rebounds and point guard Alexius Dawn chipped in with eight points and dished out nine assists to help the Lady Texan cause.

Trailing 7-6 in the opening minutes, a 3-point bucket by Moore began a 15-0 scoring run that put the Lady Texans ahead 21-7 just past the midway point of the first half.

South Plains would lead by as many as 18 points in the first half before heading to the locker room with a 38-22 advantage.

The Lady Texans came out in the second half as fired up as they were in the first, scoring the first 11 points of the period and would go on to a 31 point victory, 71-40.

South Plains will play their second – and final – home game of the fall season when they square off with Region 5 foe Cisco College Saturday at 5 p.m.  Cisco (2-2) defeated Western Texas College (3-3) 68-60 earlier Friday.
