MGCCC golf tied for lead at DII Golf Nationals

PLYMOUTH, IN---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College served notice in round one of the NJCAA D-II National Tournament that it’s a team ready to compete for a National title. The Bulldogs shot 294 (+6), which is good for a first place tie with four other teams heading into tomorrow’s second round at Swan Lake Resort.
Gulf Coast golfer Jared Smith is tied for first place individually with Tyler’s Ryan Mulvany after both shot 69 (-3), one shot better than two other golfers.
Jack Sargent (74/+2), Brad Thornton (75/+3), Drew Seals (76/+4), and Marcus Fox (78/+6) rounded out the scoring for Gulf Coast. The four round event concludes Friday.
