Match up set for 2013 Carrier Dome Bowl
 November 13, 2013

Two teams ranked in the NJCAA’s Top 20 will meet in the second annual Carrier Dome Bowl, which will be held Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

ASA College (New York, N.Y.), the champion of the Northeast Football Conference, will play the College of DuPage (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) of the Midwest Football Conference.  ASA is ranked 10th in this week’s NJCAA poll while DuPage is 20th. ASA enters the game with an 8-1 record while the Chaparrals are 7-3.

ASA, which also played in the inaugural Carrier Dome Bowl, has won its last eight games and is unbeaten in the past two seasons of NEFC play. In 2012, the Avengers--who were ranked as high as third--sent 16 individuals to NCAA Football Bowl and Championship Subdivision institutions.

The Avengers are led by quarterback Aaron Young who has thrown for 19 touchdowns, the most in NEFC history since Lackawanna's AJ McKenna also threw 19 in 2007, and a league-high 1,585 yards. ASA running back Donavan Williams has rushed for 951 yards this season, the ninth-best figure in NEFC play since 2002.

The Chaparrals are led by Dontrel Chance and his 759 rushing yards. Quarterback Lamont Toney has completed 50 of 95 passes for 805 yards and 10 touchdowns.
