CCBC Catonsville's Erin Pronobis garners MACDA Annual Post-Graduate Scholarship

Baltimore County, Md. (May 29, 2013) -- The Maryland Association of College Directors of Athletics (MACDA) has selected Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville’s Erin Pronobis of Waldorf, Md. (North Point HS) as one of its 2013 post-graduate scholarship award winners.

Each year, the MACDA scholarships recognize three student-athletes for superior work in class and on the field. The honorees include one student from a two-year college who will be attending a four-year college or university the following fall. Each recipient will receive a one-time grant of $500 upon enrollment in a post-graduate program. To be eligible, student-athletes must possess a minimum 3.2 grade-point average in undergraduate studies, excel in a varsity sport, participate in leadership activities beyond the playing field and plan to further their education.

Pronobis was a two-year member of the Cardinal’s softball team. She currently has a .513 batting average with 63 runs, 43 RBIs and a school-record 37 stolen bases for the Region XX Champions. She participated in the NJCAA National Tournament during both of her years as a Catonsville centerfielder. She was named 1st team All Maryland JUCO, 1st team All Region XX, and 3rd team All American.

Pronobis earned a 3.33 grade-point average in general studies and plans to attend a four-year school and play softball next year.
