Erie and Schenectady atop Team Standings Heading into Final Day at NJCAA Bowling Championships

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Herkimer County (N.Y.) CC’s Sarah Foley picked up wins in singles and doubles to highlight Friday’s action at the NJCAA Bowling Invitational Championships at the Thruway Lanes.
Foley won the women’s singles title with 566 pins and then teamed with Sara Edenhofer for 1,117 pins to win the national title.

In the team race, Erie Community College (N.Y.) leads the women’s standings at 7,747. Schenectady County CC (N.Y.) leads Vincennes (Ind.), by one pin, 8,716 to 8,715, on the men’s side.

In the men’s competition, Thomas Bonomo and Travis Plansker of SUNY Adirondack recorded a total of 1,249 pins for the title. Tyler Mocharie of Schenectady County CC knocked down 715 pins to pick up the men’s singles title.

Competition continues Saturday.
