COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ta’Kierra Gibbs (Central Georgia Tech), Antoinette Miller (Phoenix College, Ariz.) and Alicia Cox (Cumberland CC, N.J.) have been named NJCAA women’s basketball players of the week for games Jan. 21-27.

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ta’Kierra Gibbs – Central Georgia Technical College
Guard – Eatonton, Ga. – Putnam County High School

Gibbs utilized back-to-back double-double performances last week to lead the Cougars to two crucial victories. Going up against No. 15 Darton State (Ga.), the freshman scored a game-high 26 points to go along with 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals in an 82-79 win. Gibbs came back with 22 points, 21 rebounds, six assists and five more steals Sunday as Central Georgia Tech topped Chattahoochee Tech (Ga.), 85-80.

DIVISION II PLAYER OF THE WEEK  
Antoinette Miller – Phoenix College, Ariz.
Guard – Surprise, Ariz. – Valley Vista High School

The Bears stopped their four-game skid last week with two wins backed by Miller’s effort on both ends of the floor. Facing Chandler-Gilbert CC (Ariz.), Miller posted 25 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and seven steals in a 74-64 victory. The sophomore maintained her momentum Saturday with 26 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and another seven steals as Phoenix edged Glendale CC (Ariz.), 79-70.

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alicia Cox – Cumberland County College, N.J.
Guard – Vineland, N.J. – Vineland High School

With Cox continuing to post impressive numbers this season, the No. 10 Dukes earned three more wins last week and extended their win-streak to seven games. In a 65-42 win over Camden CC (N.J.), the sophomore recorded a game-high 25 points, eight rebounds and eight steals. Cox then totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds as Cumberland topped Ocean CC (N.J.), 68-65. Cox capped off the week against Hostos CC (N.Y.) with 14 points and nine steals as the Cougars pulled out a 70-60 victory.
