2012 NJCAA Football All-America Teams Announced
December 12, 2012
Iowa Western Community College quarterback Jake Waters and wide receiver Deon Long highlight the first-team offensive selections. The duo helped guide the Reivers to the 2012 NJCAA Football Championship in just the program’s fourth year of existence. Waters, a sophomore from Council Bluffs, Iowa, set a new NJCAA single-season record for completion percentage (73.3%) as he connected on 244-of-333 pass attempts. He also led the nation in touchdown passes (39) and passing yards (3.501). Long, a sophomore from Washington, D.C., was Waters’ favorite target, which helped him set new NJCAA single-season records for receptions (100) and touchdown receptions (25) and was just 14 yards shy of setting a new record for receiving yards in a season, finishing with 1,626.
