COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Kristen Morris (Meridian CC, Miss.), Sabrina Crawford (GateWay CC, Ariz.) and Taylor Mize (Ocean CC, N.J.) have been named NJCAA Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for matches Oct. 1-7.
 

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Morris – Meridian CC, Miss.
Forward – Yazoo City, Miss. – Manchester Academy

The Eagles claimed victory in all three of their matches last week behind the leadership of Morris. Compiling 13 points on the week, Morris totaled five goals and three assists. The freshman’s top effort came in a 6-2 win against Southwest Mississippi CC where she tallied two assists and scored three goals for the hat-trick. On the road this week, Morris and the Eagles are set to clash with Hinds CC (Miss.) and Holmes CC (Miss.).

DIVISION I GOALIE OF THE WEEK
Sabrina Crawford – GateWay CC, Ariz.
Apache Junction, Ariz. – Apache Junction High School

Crawford wasn’t perfect last week for the Geckos but put forth two admirable efforts against a non-stop attack from GateWay’s opponents. The sophomore turned away 19 of the 23 shots taken at her goal in only 180 minutes of play. Crawford finished with a .826 save percentage for the week. Saturday, Crawford and the Geckos play at Glendale CC (Ariz.).
 

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Mize – Ocean County College, N.J.
Forward – Toms River, N.J. – Toms River East High School

Coming up just short of back-to-back hat-tricks last week, Mize led the top-ranked Vikings to victory in both their matches. The sophomore scored three goals on four shots in an 8-0 blowout of Union CC (N.J.). Against Montgomery County CC (Pa.), Mize put two goals past the goalie and added an assist in the 5-0 win. Mize and the No. 1 Vikings host Middlesex CC (N.J.) Saturday.
