COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Bernardo Majano (Louisburg College, N.C.) and Brian Tapia (Triton College, Ill.) have been named NJCAA Men’s Soccer Players of the Week for matches Sept. 17-23.

Majano was named Player of the Week in Division I, while Tapia was tabbed for Division II honors.
 

DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bernardo Majano – Louisburg College, N.C.
Midfielder – Woodbridge, Va. – Woodbridge High School

In the Hurricanes' two matches with USC-Lancaster last week, Majano produced enough offense in just one match to claim Division I Player of the Week. The freshman scored five goals on only seven shots in a 13-0 win over USC-Lancaster. Majano also spread out the Hurricanes’ attack with two assists, totaling 12 points in the single contest. No. 9 Louisburg and Majano host Cape Fear CC (N.C.) Wednesday before heading to the Mercer Tournament this weekend in New Jersey.
 

DIVISION III PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brian Tapia – Triton College, Ill.
Midfielder – Cicero, Ill. – Morton High School

Recording two game-winning goals last week, Tapia led the Trojans to victory in both of their matches. Against Milwaukee Area TC, the freshman recorded a goal and an assist in the 2-1 win. In a 3-2 victory over Dominican University, Tapia scored two goals on five shots and tallied an assist for five points in the match. In their lone match of the week, Tapia and the Trojans will host Harper College (Ill.).
