Ancilla Athletics Supports Gloves4Troops

PLYMOUTH, IN – The Ancilla Athletic Department and Ancilla Baseball is taking on this GREAT cause as a community service project. Soldiers in Afghanistan have asked for gloves and balls to help pass away the down time.

Ancilla baseball coach Joe Yonto commented about the outreach effort, “I feel it is a great cause and an opportunity for our student/athletes and staff to say thank you to all those soldiers and all they have done for us.  Baseball is America’s pastime and we are happy to be a part of the Gloves4Troops cause since it also ties together the community- that we are all in this together!”

Do you have an old glove (s) at your home that you could donate? If not, monetary donations will also be greatly appreciated.  Martin’s will have donation boxes out Monday, February 4 through Monday February 18th.

Ancilla athletic director, Gene Reese mentioned, “The goal is to collect 100 baseball gloves or the money to purchase them in the next two weeks.  In Midwest Indiana most individuals support the soldiers that are fighting for the freedoms we enjoy. We want to show our appreciation to these outstanding young men and women. This is a small gesture to help make their lives better.”

Make out your checks to Ancilla College with Gloves4Troops in the memo section. Send checks to Ancilla Athletics, P.O. Box #1, Donaldson, IN 46513.
