Pensacola Pirate Baseball Team Donates Blood For 17th Consecutive Year

The Pensacola State baseball team recently participated in its annual Fall World Series “Blood Series”. For the 17th year in a row the losing team of the “Blood Series” went to the Northwest Florida Blood Services Center located on 9th avenue in Pensacola, FL and donated blood. The Pirate baseball team donated 15 units of blood this year. Sharon Rademacher the promotions coordinator for Northwest Florida Blood Services was in attendance taking pictures and getting statements from the players for their newsletter. Sharon stated in an email “Thank you so much, please let your team know that we truly appreciate it”. This is only one of the many community service projects the team participates in every year but the only one that could truly save a life and for that reason it is special for the program. The Pirate baseball team will open its season on January 29th when they travel to Brewton, AL to take on Jefferson Davis Community College at 1:00pm.
