Owens Express Women's Basketball Program Donates Time To Local Program That Helps The Homeless

Toledo, OH---The Owens Express women's basketball program donated their time this weekend at the 5th Annual Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission Golf Outing.

It was the third consecutive year the team has helped out. They checked people in, helped people carry their bags onto the carts, set up food, broke down food, served food, announced prizes and handed out the prizes to the winners.

"The women's basketball team from Owens was an awesome part of the golf outing and we appreciate all the help they gave," said Thomas Clapsaddle, Executive Director of TGRM.

The event was held at White Pines Golf Course in Swanton, OH. Money raised at the event will fund the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission, a non-profit homeless shelter in Toledo's inner-city for men, women and children.

Last year, TGRM served 139,000 meals and housed 17,000 nights of shelter.
